ABOUT THE CLIENT
This web site was developed for personal use. It was developed to help my sister, Alicia Kaul, raise awareness and funds for her two year mission to Guatemala. She is a nurse and will be volunteering in Guadalupe Homes, an orphange in Santa Apolonia, Guatemala.
PROJECT DETAILS
Traditionally, volunteers of this program are encouraged to send out letters to friends and family communicating their upcoming mission and asking for financial support.
This web site was developed to help Alicia reach these people in a more effective and interactive manner. Site visitors can get much more information on this site than a letter could ever provide and can stay updated on her mission as she spends two years in Guatemala through the site's blog.
Through some great PR work, Alicia has also been able to get some media coverage of her mission. Among other things, she has been interviewed by TMJ4 News and this site gives her a place to share her interview with those who were not able to view it's original airing. Video of Guadalupe Homes, the orphanage in which she will be working, is also available through this site. The site also offers users visitors a way to contribute financially to her mission.
