Currently I work for a web development and design agency in Milwaukee, Wisconsin as an Account Supervisor. I am responsible for developing strategies and managing the online marketing efforts of the agency's clients along with overseeing day to day management issues. It is my job to manage the development team during the construction of a web site and then to strategize to find ways to bring traffic to it.
I graduated from the University of Wisconsin Whitewater with a degree in Advertising and Computer Science. My education covers areas such as marketing, PR, advertising, art, graphic design, web development, web design, interactive media and more.
Since college I have worked in several very different roles. I have ventured into the advertising industry, working for Kohnke Hanneken ("arguably the most creative advertising agency in Milwaukee, Wisconsin", Communication Arts, 03/2004). Here I was responsible for managing the day to day advertising and marketing efforts of clients. This list of clients included The Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, Wyndham Hotel and Bayshore Town Center among others.
Prior to Kohnke Hanneken, I was the Marketing Director for a print design firm in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Here I was responsible for coordinating the internal marketing efforts of the agency along with that of clients.
The experience that I have gained in these positions has helped me to succeed as a freelance web designer and graphic designer.
It may not take much to find a designer with great design skills. But, to find one who also has knowledge and experience in marketing, advertising and account management is a rarity.
